What is a heat shield used for?
Turbochargers are a great way to get more power and torque to your wheels and enhance the driving experience, but they do have some drawbacks. One of these is heat. Turbochargers produce a lot of heat which could be damaging the surrounding component like the air intake system or even the wiring harnesses. By keeping the heat contained around the turbocharger, the heat shield helps to improve the overall performance and reliability of the engine.
The Weistec M177 Turbo Heat Shield is made from a single piece of 304 Stainless Steel. Precision laser cut and bent on a CNC press brake. The heat shield features a more aggressive design than the rather bland OEM heat shield and with optional ceramic coating will greatly alter the under hood appearance while retaining functionality.
