Built on the basis of the RS-19, the RS-29 has a very similar level of friction, but has improvements in initial bite, pedal feel and feedback. Primarily used in endurance racing due to extended life, and low disc wear, this compound has been used, and been successful in such events as Le Mans, where it has been possible to run the whole race without changing pads or discs. The compound is also able to run at higher temperature than the RS-19 compound and as such is more suitable to applications where higher temperatures are a common occurrence.
