Following an extensive development process, AIRTEC Motorsport is proud to launch the turbo cooler and auxiliary radiator kits designed specifically for modified Yaris GR owners who require the ultimate cooling package for track or fast road use.

The Challenge:
When increasing power and torque levels in the Yaris GR through modifications, the caràcooling system faces the challenge of handling the additional heat. During intense use, such as on the track, this can become a significant issue. Our own 400bhp+ Yaris GR demo car experienced coolant temperatures reaching 102 degrees and oil temperatures reaching 123 degrees, triggering the aftermarket ECUàsafety features and putting the car into limp mode. To continue modifying and tracking the Yaris, we needed to address the entire cooling system.

The Solution:
Developed in-house at AIRTEC HQ in the UK, we have designed a series of new products to tackle the cooling issues when pushed to the limit. The turbo cooler fits behind the fog light (requires removal) and utilizes laser-cut aluminium ducting to force cold air through the radiator. To enhance cooling further, air exits through the inner arch liner (requires cutting). We provide pre-cut mesh shields for both the front and rear to protect the radiator from road debris damage.

The turbo cooler is directly plumbed into the cooling circuit that flows coolant to the turbo, resulting in an immediate reduction in heat before reaching the hottest part of the car. This improves overall capacity and cooling ability, allowing the car to maintain a steady temperature for longer during intense use. The kit can be combined with any of our intercooler or oil cooler combinations to create the ultimate cooling package. It includes laser-cut and powder-coated brackets, high-quality Pro Hoses silicone lines, as well as all fixtures, fittings, and detailed fitting instructions.

The Testing:
We tested the turbo and auxiliary radiators, along with our larger Stage 3 oil cooler, on the track. The results showed a 10-degree peak drop in coolant temperature, stabilizing at a safer constant 92 degrees. The oil temperature reached a maximum of 94 degrees, thanks to the larger oil cooler providing more surface area for cooling and the turbo cooleràability to reject more heat from the caràoriginal oil/water heat exchanger.
